1. What we collect

When you create an account or make a booking, we collect your name, email address, and phone number (optional). When you submit a contact message we collect the details you provide in the form. We also log your IP address for security and rate-limiting purposes.

2. How we use it

Your information is used to:

• Manage your repair bookings and communicate updates
• Respond to contact enquiries
• Protect the site against abuse (rate limiting, account lockout)

We do not sell your data to third parties or use it for marketing without your consent.

3. Data storage

Your data is stored in a secured database on our server. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text. IP addresses are stored in binary form and are not displayed to other users.

4. Cookies & local storage

We use a single session cookie (tec_sess) to keep you logged in and to protect forms against cross-site request forgery (CSRF). This cookie is strictly necessary for the site to function and does not require consent under UK GDPR.

We also store a small flag (tc_cookie_consent) in your browser's local storage to remember that you have acknowledged this notice. This contains no personal data.

AI chat widget: If you use our AI chat feature, the messages you type are sent to Anthropic (anthropic.com) for processing and to generate a response. No chat history is stored on our servers beyond the current session, and we do not share these messages with any other third party. Anthropic may process your messages in accordance with their own privacy policy.

We do not use advertising cookies, analytics tracking cookies, or any other non-essential cookies.
